FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT350R 2016

AN EYE TO THE PAST, WITH A LOOK TO THE FUTURE

The leitmotif of Fo. Mo. Co. for 2016 is New version of Old Glories. The lineup of Mustang Shelby GT350R and Ford GT shown @NAIAS 2015 are an evidence, extacly 50 years after the historical winnings of Shelbys and Ford GT40s (24h of Le Mans, on the Ferrari’s). The very first new model we are going to introduce you is the Shelby GT350R, that follows the steps of her grandma, the 1965 GT350, but with the modern technology, of course; a naturally aspirated 5,2 liter flat crank V8 engine (with 500 hp and 542 Nm of thorque), 2 seats (recaro seats in the front, removed rear seats in the back), 59 kg lighter than her sister, the standard GT350 , with the “Track Pack”, ), 6 speed Manual shifting, Carbon Fiber 19″ rims (19″ X 11″ front , 19″ X 11,5″ rear) with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (7kg each lighter than Alluminum ones), Brembo Brakes (6 pistons front, 4 pistons rear), Let this monster done the Nurburgring in 7 ‘ 32″ 19″‘ , 7 second faster than the Z28 Camaro!

Some other specs? Of Course! The electronic, adaptive MagneRide suspensions, revised spring rates and anti-roll bars, a lower ride height, and unique alignment settings, as well as revised bushings, bump stops, and cross-axis ball joints; the new front splitter and the carbon fiber rear wing deliver better aerodynamics and enhanced downforce. This is augmented by the bonnet vent for lift reduction and cooling, the underbelly pans, diffuser, vented wheel wells, and fender vents for turbulence reduction. There are wheel air curtains and side skirts, too. the car is also fitted with dedicated coolers for the engine oil, the gearbox, and the 3.73:1 Torsen limited-slip differential.

What this auto lacks? The word first, of course. Than performance means also sacrifice, as you can easily imagine, so the GT350R has dumped the air conditioning, stereo, rear seats, boot floorboard, carpets, backup camera, exhaust resonators, and emergency tire system. However, Ford is offering an option package for those wanting a few creature comforts, and the interior does have high-contrast red stitching and a D-shaped steering wheel with a red center mark. The supposed price is roughly around 80.000 $.
