MUSTANGMANIA MEETS FORD DAY 2: 2015 TEST DRIVE!
Friday, January 9th
Our day started really early, due to the fact we have jet lag killing us…we tried to fall asleep again..no chance! So we decided to go around Mt. lauriel City, in the New Jersey state. We stopped for a quick shopping inside Wallmart, just 2 or 3 things we said…after half an hour we came out with a 135 $ Bill! A lady in the queque with us, asked us the story of the logo we had on our jacket. After a quick chat, she shown us the Mustang convertible she drive every weekend with her husband; Another gentlemen stopped us in the parking lot, and shared with us the story of his first kiss, on the rear seat of a 1967 Mustang coupè, in a warm night of June 1981. The feelings and the sensations shared with 2 strangers, 2 foreigners, with only a common passion for a car is umbeliavable!
On our way back to the Hotel, we took courage and stopped at Hoffman Ford, a local dealer with some nice Mustang outside. We step inside, and asked for a test drive. They gave us the chance to choose which mustang we would like to drive; My eyes stopped immediately on a Miami Yellow
(it’s a pearlscent color, by the way) Ford Mustang GT premium 2015, with black 19″ Rims, Pirelli Pzero Tires and Brembo Package. The car has done huge steps forward, both esthetically and technically; The quality of the leater interior and seat, the safety features push the car to another level of quality. The Sales Guy Asked us if we are familiar with the manual shifting..It could sound silly, but in US manual shifting is not that common! After a quick tour around, the guy told us “Ok, let’s put the car in the sport mode!”; Ok, so it was going that FAST in the standard mode??? Oh my gosh! With a quick touch of a finger, he moved a lever just below the radio, than with a click he changed the stifness of the steering wheel…result? A BEAST, with a tremendous kick-ass acceleration, that easily deploys the power to the ground with a 3.73 gear ratio. We came back to the Dealership, have a chat with all the guys to share our story, and there we discovered a nice thing: 2 of them are Italian!for a moment we felt a little bit less far from home .
We finished our day with a nice dinner at our friend’s home, trying to convert a Chevy-guy in a true Mustang-guy…We are still trying, by the way…
