BRIEFING

In 1979, Ford creted a commemorative model of Ford Mustang, due to the fact the car has been selected to be the Indy 500 official pace car. Ford produced 11.000 Pace Car replica cars, with 2 different engine options: 2,3 liters 4 cilinder turbo engine and a 5,0 liter V8 engine. Not many of these car survived till today, especially in Europe. We found only 3 cars before this one in France, UK and Czech Repubblic.

CAR’S HISTORY

Milan, 1979. A rich gentleman, owner of an art gallery, took the decision to buy a special ford mustang to improve his collection.

He became the ower of a very special model, a 1979 Ford Mustang Indy 500 Pace Car Replica, 5,0 liter engine, With the help of a local car dealer, his family tried many many times to discourage this purchase, but without succeed: love is love. He installed also terrible side mufflers.

The car has been used for years, before it went under maintenance in a locar mechanic workshop. In the meantime, his art gallery felt under the weight of the economical crysis, and the car  has been impounded. This gentleman died, and his sons didn’t want to save that car . Everybody forgot the car for a while, ’till a second owner appeared and tried to save the car. He spent many hours dealing with the goverment and the banks.At the end he succeded , and enjoyed the car for a while. There was a small problem with the engine,but unfortunately he found only terrible mechanics. After a lot of moeny, energy and effort spent in that car, the second owner decide to sell it.

The car set for a couple of years in the backyard of a used car dealer, without engine ( the previous owner has changed the engine with 331 stroker, without lucky). One night we were helping a friend to find a project to work on. We saw this car on a popular advertising website, we shown it to him and…boom! He felt in love. After a small negotiation, and a couple of phone calls, the week after we were in that backyard, with a tow truck.
