Jack Roush: The Production 1999-2004

First Generation:

Roush was the “later” iconic mustang creator. Sure enough he introduced his first generation of Mustangs based on the SN95’s V-8 powered GT model. The cars were available in three models: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3. Each stage provided more goodies, starting with the Stage 1’s exterior enhancements all the way up to the Stage 3’s full on performance package. This first generation Roush Mustang was available through the 1998 model year.

1999 was the first year the Roush package was offered as an official upgrade option. The Stage 1 and Stage 2 packaged were offered, each with side exhaust 150mph speedometer on a fully optioned Mustang GT. Stage 2 included performance suspension upgrades. Stage 3 added the supercharger.

Second Generation:

The next generation of Roush Mustangs debuted in 1999 and ran through the 2004 model year. Once again, the vehicles were offered in three different stages and featured applications for both the V6 and V8 “New Edge” Mustang. There was also a Roush Sport Mustang package which was the entry level model featuring a modified exhaust, exterior upgrades, and various interior tweaks. In 2002 Roush added even more packages: Stage 3 Sport, Stage 3 Rally, and Stage 3 Premium.

The 2001 Roush Mustang comes in three levels up featured upgrades: the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. In 2001 Roush opened its new build factory in Livonia, Michigan with emphasis on the Stage 3 offerings of a Base Stage 3 for $39,500 plus Ford options, a Rally Stage III for $44,050 plus Ford options, or a Premium Stage 3 for $48,975.

The 2004 Roush Mustang came in three levels of builds: the Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3. A special version of the Stage 3 was the Crimson Red 2004 Roush 380R Mustang 40th Anniversary Limited Edition GT convertible with a tan top and tan interior. Under the hood is a supercharged 4.6 liter SOHC with intercooler that pumps out 379hp at 5250 rpm and 380ft-lbs of torque at 3000rpm.
