You have just discover the car we are gonna introduce you today: the Shelby Roush SR71 Blackbird!
Built in Livonia Roush facilities, Michigan, this car has been create to raise found for the Young Eagles program of the EEA(Experimental Aircraft Association). This program give to the 8-17 years old child the opportunity to have a free flight on one of the airplanes fleet driven from the 42’000 pilot volounteers.
This is not the first special mustang that Ford Produces for EEA. We will write an article on each single model!The auction was at EEA Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The Car auction closed at 375’000 $! A quite high price for a modern collectible.
The car is a 2011 version, even if it was built in 2010. It has received just a “couple” of upgrades!
The outside was covered in matte-gray paint—an homage to the SR-71 and adds special SVT wheels (19″ in the front, 20″ in the back), Recaro racing seats, a racing steering wheel, a new instrument cluster, and a roll cage. The rear seat has been removed( there is a x-struct bar, that you will see again on the laguna seca boss 302..) and there are customized door-sill plates and floor mats, panoramic roof with dedicated decals.
In addition to the 2.3-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, added on a 5.0 liter alluminum block, the SR-71 adds a Roush air intake, Ford Racing handling pack, and Ford Racing exhaust, to give to the car a Louder sound, 3.73 rear gears to push a little bit forward the acceleration.
Power and thorque has never been revealed, but from the rumors we found on the internet we could say 525hp and 543 Nm of Thorque. What we can say guys..only one thing: this has to be a car you have to copy!!
