USA 2016 – Travel Diary – Day 02 
DAY 2: PARADISE CITY – WASHINGTON d.C. And its beauties WALKING LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW Some Wake up calls Are not the best. I had forgotten that. The Jet Lag and a very noising snoring roommate, gave me the shortest sleep of the entire trip. Hot shower, quick shave, a cup of Coffee and a “shower” of shaving foam on my sleeping roommate, and i was ready to go. For Matteo was not the same. He had a quick shower, arguing about my joke( sincerely i had a lot of fun) and We started our first day of Holiday in USA. We choosed an Hotel in the city center to avoid the use of the car, completely. The city of Washington D.C. Has an unique style: the European influences Are pretty visible on each historical building, halfway between London and Paris. The monument area(from Lincoln memorial to the Washington monument) remembered us the champs Elisees. The museums area is closer to Her Older sister in London. The city shares with the people an unreal quietness, and IT is unbelievably clean. After 15 minute walk and a Horrible Starbucks double espresso, We took a couple of pictures in front of the White House. My memorable embarrassing moment was when i asked(with a lot of ingenuity, I admit it) To a police officer How much was the ticket to visit the White House. This gentlemen, quite embarrassed from my question, explained to me that the only Way to visit the White House is through our embassy. The visit request has to be submitted between 2 to 6 months before. Sadly We walked away( ok, i was sad. Matteo was laughing behind me). We reached the hotel, with our leg destroyed, almost dinner time. After a shower We were completely destroyed. We choosed a walking distance restaurant, nice and quite, in a residential area behind Dupont Circle. We went to bed very tired before 11:00 PM, a very long trip was waiting us the day after.
